## How licensing works

- **The open code is AGPL-3.0-only.** The verifier, SDK and chiplets are free to use, study and modify; a product built
on them shares its source under the same license.
- **The prover binary is free.** It is proprietary, and a linking exception under AGPL section 7 lets your AGPL program
  call it.
- **Pro and Enterprise lift the AGPL obligation.** Ship Hekate under your own license, in an open-source protocol or a
closed-source product, with the 128-bit build and direct support.

![A product built on Hekate's open code takes one of two licenses. Shipped under AGPL-3.0, it is free for any purpose. Shipped under other terms, it needs a Pro or Enterprise commercial license: that covers open source under another license, such as protocols and networks, and closed-source products.](https://oumuamua.dev/assets/hekate/pricing/license-cases.9d3784c9d06db58e3244143a183ea989701ab7c0dd1da2628da443fe41da158a.svg "The terms your product ships under decide the license.")
