§ How licensing works

  • The open code is AGPL-3.0-only. The verifier, SDK and chiplets are free to use, study and modify; a product built on them shares its source under the same license.
  • The prover binary is free. It is proprietary, and a linking exception under AGPL section 7 lets your AGPL program call it.
  • Pro and Enterprise lift the AGPL obligation. Ship Hekate under your own license, in an open-source protocol or a closed-source product, with the 128-bit build and direct support.
A product built on Hekate's open code takes one of two licenses. Shipped under AGPL-3.0, it is free for any purpose. Shipped under other terms, it needs a Pro or Enterprise commercial license: that covers open source under another license, such as protocols and networks, and closed-source products.
The terms your product ships under decide the license.
